TEXTILE SCULPTORS

Rowan Mersh

Graduate of the Royal College of Art mersh is a textile based sculptor that fuses concept with experimentation

These are 2 experiments i produced in my sketchbook, replicating mersh's work, I used empty thread reels and pennys encased in tights to create texture and shape.

Katy Heinlein

Graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Texas Heinlein creates simple theatrical sculptures using movement and tension, using the fluidity of fabric combined with the restraints of straps.

I thought these designers linked in well with the recent glue and cloth workshops in creating unusual shapes from a variety of materials.
